Driver Development
The RySpec Racing School Championship is designed for karters from 15+ entering cars for the first time. Our goal is to help young aspiring talent race in a developmental series at a low cost. The end goal for most aspiring talent is to race in the big leagues in the US, the less drivers spend on their development the more they will have to spend when it counts.
The RRSC has 6 car’s that are all run and maintained by one team, RySpec. Meaning the competition is fair as possible giving every driver a equal playing field to develop and perform.
While a grid of 6 cars seems small we are actually running under the Formula Prototype Challenge Series. This means we race along side gentlemen drivers in revolutions, radicals and formula atlantic’s ensuring there’s always a grid of 16 - 20 cars making this one of the larger grids in Canada.
Career Path
It’s no secret that chances of becoming a race car driver are slim, that’s why its important to have a vision and plan to maximize your chances.
Looking at successful Canadian race car drivers past, a common theme is that most spend 2 to 3 seasons max developing their craft in Canada before hitting the main stages in North America.
The goal with RRSC is for drivers two spend 2 years max in the series, then compete in a US series whether its in Blue Marble through the scholarship or in actual pro series. Spending the maximum dollar in your first few years to race in locally at the same 2 - 3 tracks isn’t great for, the budget, driver development or exposure.
